So Just Who Is This Guy?
March 6, 2008Hello everyone whose given a damn to place their lovely eyes on this form of writing! :D
My name’s Justin or Huxley, I’m a young dude with thick brown hair, blue eyes, dimples, and someone you typically see smiling and laughing. :)
I dont know how often I will decide to keep up with this, hopefully for many days, this place does seem interesting and the whole thought of writing down random stuff about myself and little adventures on life seems like fun to me. This would be my 2nd blog that I’ve ever had. I use to have a blog at at a site called: Gridironfans.com. That’s an American football related site and a very crowded and popular one at that, a site with football fans from all around the world, many different groups, ages, and gatherings of people all located on one forum. I’m currently the site’s only Global Moderator and am one of their key members on the site. Anywho, when I was at around my 2nd month posting at that site, which is a message board, I volunteered to write a sports blog about the National Football League. I wrote around 7 or 8 entries in 1 month, later at the end of that month, there was a Voting Poll to determine who wrote the best blog and surprisingly, I won it. I won the “Jim Brown” Award, which is the award handed out to the top blogger of the month. My first sports blog in my first month and I win the top award, pretty cool huh? :D
I no longer have that blog, I got kinda lazy and lost interest in writing in it and it was soon removed from my control. I still have the Blogger award for writing it, but perhaps I should have stuck with it, who knows, maybe I would have more Blogger awards. In all honesty, my heart just wasn’t with it, I suppose. I love sports and all, but it’s not really my passion or main interest.
What is my passion, would have to be Music, hence the username of: “MusicOrGTFO” :P
I love music, it is easily one of the most important things in my life, from playing my AEX Yamaha Electric guitar or playing my new GCO57 Ovation Acoustic guitar, or filling up my YouTube Favorites list with countless music videos, all those things prove my devotion to music, which I actually consider my religion. I have always been fortunate enough to attend music concerts from a great classic rock band called “The Doobie Brothers.” My father, who is a man I truly love and respect, is a childhood friend of the owner of the Doobie Brothers, so in turn, I know him. I get free tickets and get to go back-stage each and every year. I’ve met many of the Doobie Brothers. Pat Simmons is a great guy, John McFee, Tommy Johnston, Skylark, Skunk Baxter, all of them are terrific and down to earth peace loving dudes. I had also met Keith Knudsen and Cornelius Bumpus, who are both sadly dead. In a way, I have grown up with that band and have always loved them very much, I feel so lucky to have been able to go to so many of their concerts and still can.
My favorite band of all time would have to be “The Doors.” Their music just inspires me, completely. I can listen to them in no matter what mood I am in. “Light My Fire,” “Riders On The Storm,” “Soft Parade,” “Break On Through,” “The Crystal Ship,” “The End,” “When The Music’s Over,” and many many more of them just mean so much to me. Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore, the four of them put together music that has followed me in so many times in my life. I’ve listened to them after I was depressed about my uncle’s suicide, I’ve listened to them while drinking with friends and just hanging back, I’ve listened to them on quiet nights where I am talking to some online friends of mine, I’ve just listened to them at so many different times. A great quote comes from their drummer, John Densmore about their music. It is labeled: “People lost their virginity to this music, got high for the first time to this music. I’ve had people say kids died in Vietnam listening to this music, other people say they know someone who didn’t commit suicide because of this music…. On stage, when we played these songs, they felt mysterious and magic. That’s not for rent.”
Just picture that, their music and so many others who created brilliant music has been involved in so many situations, it’s crazy, music has prevented people from killing themselves, it’s set moods, it’s used for so many truly amazing things in life. The Doors are the perfect band In my humble opinion, they truly mean a ton for me as do many other great bands and musicians I love. I really could not picture living my life without music, it is easily one of the most important things in my life.
And of course, like many many people, family and friends mean a ton to me. My parents were always caring for me and raised me pretty well so far, I think. I try my best to make people happy and act caring, sincere, and friendly to people. Making someone laugh and smile just makes me feel amazing inside, life is all about living it up, having fun, and just enjoying it! If this is the only life we live, why not make the most of it? ENJOY IT. I do my best to enjoy mine and make my friends enjoy it as well. I’ve been blessed to meet many great people and have many good times. Remember this, please: Enjoy Life. Enjoy It.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to read all my bullshit and thoughts about what I like, what I’m about, etc. I truly appreciate it and wish the best to all. Peace, love, and happiness to you! :D
I FOUND YOU!!!
